February 4, 2009, participated in a panel discussion on "Environmental and Health Risks of GMO Crops & Foods," India International Center & Navdanya, Delhi, India

March 21, 2007, gave two workshops to faculty on "Pedagogical Comparisons: U.S. & Gulf States Education Systems," Colorado State University, Colorado

June 12, 2006, presented a paper on “The History of the Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra,” at the 2nd World Congress on Middle Eastern Studies in Amman, Jordan.

April 25, 2006, gave performance entitled,“Untamed Nostalgia – Poetry Recitation and Songs,” Jones Library, Amherst, MA.

October 17, 2005, lectured on, "Iraqi Music and Maqaams," University of North Texas, Texas.

August 26, 2005, recited poetry and performed songs at the Peace Festival Beyond the Demilitirized Zone (DMZ) in South Korea.

April 14, 2005, hosted and translated for renowned Mauritanian singer, Malouma, as she gave a lecture demonstration on “Griots, African Rhythms and Arabic Lyrics,” Berklee College of Music.

October 16, 2004, “Iraq in The Post ”Freedom” Phase and Women’s Status,” Cape Cod State College.

May 2001, “Music and Maqamat of IRAQ,” co-lectured with and translated for Iraqi musician, Mohammed Gomar, Harvard University.
